ECCLESIASTICAL DEPARTMENT OF IMAC
Rabbi Divine Dove
Chairman Ecclesiastical Board
is the chairman of the ecclesiastical board of the International Ministerial Alliance of Churches, IMAC, a global body of Pentecostal ministers and church leaders, with a presence in over thirty nations across Europe, North America, Canada, Asia, and Africa. At the heart of IMAC’s strength, unity, and credibility lies its Ecclesiastical Department, which serves as the spiritual, doctrinal, and moral guardian of the organisation.
The Ecclesiastical Department exists to ensure that IMAC is not merely an administrative alliance, but a spiritually governed body that reflects the character, holiness, and order of Christ and His Church.
1. SPIRITUAL OVERSIGHT AND DOCTRINAL INTEGRITY
The Ecclesiastical Department is responsible for maintaining the soundness of doctrine and the purity of faith within IMAC. It safeguards the organisation from practices and rituals that are inconsistent with biblical Christianity. Through teaching standards, doctrinal guidelines, and oversight of ministers, the department ensures that IMAC leaders follow sound doctrines and live up to a good moral standard prescribed by the holy scriptures.
2. MORAL ACCOUNTABILITY AND ETHICAL GOVERNANCE
A core responsibility of the Ecclesiastical Department is to uphold moral integrity and ethical conduct among IMAC leaders and ministers. It establishes clear standards for personal conduct, public behaviour ministerial discipline, and leadership accountability. When allegations, ethical concerns, or moral questions arise, the Ecclesiastical Department provides a fair, confidential, and structured process of review. Its role is not to condemn, but to discern truth, protect the organisation, preserve the dignity of sacred offices, and pursue restoration where possible.
3. PASTORAL CARE AND RESTORATION
The Ecclesiastical Department functions not only as a governing body, but also as a pastoral authority. It recognises that leaders are servants of God who carry spiritual burdens and face public pressures. In times of failure, accusation, crisis, or weakness, the department offers pastoral guidance, prayerful counsel, and restorative pathways. Discipline, where required, is exercised with wisdom, proportionality, and compassion, always seeking healing, growth, and redemption rather than destruction.
4. OVERSIGHT OF LEADERSHIP APPOINTMENTS AND DISCIPLINE
The Ecclesiastical Department plays a central role in the appointment, affirmation, and review of senior leadership within IMAC, including bishops, national presidents, and executive leaders. It ensures that those elevated to leadership are spiritually mature, doctrinally sound, morally credible, and aligned with the vision and values of IMAC. Likewise, it has the authority to recommend corrective measures, temporary relief, or disciplinary actions when leadership conduct threatens the integrity of the organisation
5. PROTECTION OF THE ORGANISATION’S REPUTATION AND WITNESS
IMAC operates in the public eye across multiple nations and cultures. The Ecclesiastical Department is responsible for safeguarding the public witness and credibility of the organisation. Through wise governance, crisis response, and clear communication protocols, the department ensures that IMAC responds to challenges with dignity, discretion, and biblical wisdom, avoiding unnecessary scandal, division, or reputational harm.
6. UNITY, ORDER, AND SPIRITUAL ALIGNMENT
The Ecclesiastical Department serves as a unifying force within IMAC. It promotes harmony among member churches, leaders, and national branches by ensuring alignment with IMAC’s vision, constitution, and spiritual mandate. It helps resolve disputes, prevent fragmentation, and maintain ecclesiastical order so that IMAC operates as one body with many parts, united in purpose and direction.
7. ADVISORY ROLE TO THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL
The Ecclesiastical Department provides spiritual and ethical counsel to the Executive Council and other governing bodies of IMAC. While administrative decisions guide operations, ecclesiastical wisdom ensures those decisions remain aligned with God’s will, biblical principles, and the mission of the Church.
CONCLUSION
In essence, the Ecclesiastical Department of IMAC is the spiritual backbone of the organisation. It guards doctrine, governs conduct, nurtures leaders, protects unity, and ensures that IMAC remains faithful to its divine calling in every nation it serves. Through prayer, discernment, wisdom, and accountability, the Ecclesiastical Department enables IMAC to fulfil its mandate of strengthening, equipping, and unifying ministers globally, to the glory of God and the advancement of His Kingdom.
